Lijiang is a town in China's Yunnan Province. It is set in a beautiful valley backed by the 5, 600 meters (18, 360 feet) majestic mountain Yulong Xue Shan, also known as Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, which dominates the skyline. The main peak, Shanzidou, has the southernmost glaciers in the northern hemisphere. Lijiang's old town, Dayan, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is home to the Naxi minority which is descended from Tibetan nomads and other racial minorities.
